Kara brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Biomechania, combining academic excellence with diverse professional achievements. After graduating from the University of Sydney in 2013, she completed a Master’s degree at La Trobe University and earned the prestigious title of APA Sport and Exercise Physiotherapist in 2020.
Kara has worked extensively in both private practice and professional sports settings across Australia and the United Kingdom, giving her a unique perspective on injury assessment and rehabilitation. Her expertise includes managing conditions involving the lower back, knee, ankle, and lower limb soft tissue injuries, however Kara is proficient in treating all body parts and would happily assist with treatment and rehabilitation of all areas.
Kara adopts a highly individualised approach to patient care, dedicating time to understanding each patient’s needs and tailoring treatment plans that combine manual therapy, Pilates, and strength and conditioning to achieve long-term results.
Kara’s career in sports physiotherapy began in 2013 with roles at the Sydney Swans Academy and Sydney University NEAFL team. In 2015, she served as the physiotherapist for the TV program The NRL Rookie, which led to a position with the Sydney Roosters Jersey Flegg team.
More recently, Kara worked as the First XV Physiotherapist for Edinburgh Rugby, where she supported some of the world’s most elite rugby players. Her role involved injury prevention and rehabilitation for athletes, including preparations for and recovery after the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.
In November 2024, Kara returned to Sydney, drawn back by the sunshine and her family. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active through gym workouts, cycling, Pilates, and the occasional game of golf. She also loves exploring new restaurants and cafes in her spare time.
